4 Mistakes Bloggers Make When Writing Content

Do you want to be a popular blogger? Do you want to have a blog with high amount of traffic? Do you want to make lots of money with your blog? It all boils down to the content that you write. The key is to write interesting content each and every time. Don’t let your audience’s interest to fade away. Here are 4 mistakes bloggers make when writing content:

1: Giving Too Much Information In Your Content

Most people want to learn one thing at a time. When they read a blog, they expect to learn simple information in each blog post. Giving too much information in your content will only make your readers confused.

Information overload is one thing that can make your visitors leave your blog. Also, giving too much information in your content will make your blog to have conflicting information. This is not really a problem if your blog is similar to article directories. But, if you’re writing for a niche blog, it will become a major turn off.

2: Stuffing Your Content With Keywords

If you are too obsessive with keywords, your blog post will become weird to read. That’s because people will clearly see keywords in many places in your content. People will read those repetitive keywords and your content will be difficult to read. It doesn’t flow freely.
Keywords that are too many will make the search engines to flag your blog as well. So, if you’re trying to write SEO content for your blog, be sure to place your keywords naturally throughout your content. Avoid excessive keywords.

3: Talking About Yourself  Too Much

Bloggers usually write to share their experience with their audience. But, it doesn’t mean that you need to talk about yourself too much. The point here is to share your experience in the way that can benefit your audience. It means that you need to focus your content on your audience, not on yourself.

When people spot your bragging attitude in blogging, people will tend to flag you as boastful blogger and your content will become boring to read. That’s because people mind their own business. They don’t care about your story if it doesn’t give any benefit to them.

4: Writing A Super Long Blog Post That No One Will Read

When you write a blog post, keep in mind that you are not writing an essay. If you want to write a long blog post, why not write a book instead? People come to your blog to learn simple information, not to read a book. When they want to read a book, they will go to a book store and purchase a book there.

When they visit your blog, they want concise and simple information. Writing a super long blog post will make people ignore your blog post altogether because it is tiring to read on the web. You have to write content that can be read in one sitting.
Those mistakes can give bad experience to your blog readers. As a blogger, you need to keep your content informative, interesting, and simple. If you write your content carelessly, people will not want to stick with your blog and you will gradually lose your traffic.

Do you know what I like about this post? It is aimed at EVERY blogger new and old. Thankfully I don’t believe that I am a victim of any of these mistakes, especially the one about making long posts, I can’t concentrate long enough to write a long post. :)

  2. I usually don’t like long blog posts, but their are a few exceptions. For example if someone is giving a list of the TOP ___ or the BEST_____ , and then gives a short paragraph for each explaining why they deserve to be on the list. Even then, if they list too many things, my mind has a tendency to wander.
